Mindset is everything. Let your soul heal, learn, and revive. Take it day by day. Walk each road or run. Remember who you are. Don’t forget it.

Hey! I’m Katie Marie

Jarritos are my jam (Pineapple to be specific). Katie or Kate - you decide. Cliche taco lover + foodie, y’all cause who’s not. A big big fan of Dim Sum. Forever hooked by the travel bug and ready to brreaaak down my best moves with you. I was born and raised in a small, close-knit and caring Texas community right outside of Austin, Texas. My roots have guided me to where I am and have paved the way I view life alongside my fabulous family and friends. I’m a momma to one beautiful, sweet & sassy little girl who makes my life better each day. She is a blessing and a reminder of how God creates such beautiful souls.

I have this faint memory as a four-year-old little girl in Pre-K.  We were rewarded for good behavior and would get to choose something out of this mysterious treasure box. It was close to the end of the school year and I knew the toys had to be GOOD. I couldn’t decide between a toy camera or a jungle book candy dispenser. Of course, being the sweet tooth that I am, I chose the candy dispenser. It’s okay, I may have not have known it then, but I do know now. What was a tiny message sent, I now clearly see what I had in store for me many years later.

Photography is not only my growing business but my art and my passion. What started as a hobby has turned me into a full-time adventure seeker. I totally call myself a MOM BOSS. If you are one, say it out loud, Y’all! I started college majoring in fashion marketing, fully convinced that was the path for me. Then I found a camera hiding in my closet, picked it up, and never looked back. Just a few months after having my little girl in 2016, I went FULL FORCE into photography — and it has been the most beautiful, refining, faith-filled journey ever since.

Later on, I took another leap of faith and began driving back and forth to Texas A&M University for three years to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Women’s and Gender Studies — something I am deeply, wholeheartedly passionate about. Those years were not easy. They required long drives, long nights, and an even longer commitment to growth — but they changed me in the best way.

My studies centered heavily around marginalized communities, intersectionality, systemic inequality, and the lived experiences of women whose voices are so often overlooked. I dove into conversations about race, gender, class, and power — and how these systems shape opportunity, safety, and representation. I also developed a strong passion for food justice, learning how access to food, land, and resources disproportionately impacts underserved communities and how advocacy can create real, tangible change.

That season stretched me intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. It strengthened my conviction, deepened my empathy, and completely reshaped the way I move through the world. It also transformed the way I show up behind my lens. I understand the layers people carry, the systems they navigate, and the stories they hold. My education didn’t just give me a degree; it gave me perspective, purpose, and a greater responsibility to serve intentionally.

From fashion marketing… to motherhood… to photography… to Women’s and Gender Studies… what a beautifully unexpected, purpose-filled journey it’s been. And I truly cannot wait to see how all of these pieces continue to intertwine in the rest of my photography future. 🤍✨
